Basically CDBG for States
Course Description
Basically CDBG for States focuses on the following program topics: national objectives, eligible activities, program administration, financial management, IDIS, performance measurement, reporting, and recordkeeping from the perspective of state staff. The course materials have been updated to cover the requirements as they relate to the State CDBG program. The Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) is not covered in this course. Note: This class is designed for State CDBG program staff and it provides a thorough foundation on the federal CDBG rules.
Who Should Attend
Basically CDBG for States is appropriate for new state staff who work directly with the CDBG Program. Each State is allowed two slots therefore, any additional state staff will be placed on a waiting list. In addition, units of general local government (UGLGs) staff should be aware that this training course focuses on the federal CDBG rules and not on the CDBG policies and programs enacted by a specific state; therefore, they will be waitlisted and only permitted to register if the course does not reach capacity. CDBG entitlement staff will also be placed on a waiting list and only permitted to register if the course does not reach capacity. Due to the limited availability of training seats, nonprofit subrecipients, for-profit corporations and grant administrators are not permitted to register for this class.
