Rental Housing Underwriting and Finance

Course Description

This course covers basic methods of financial and non-financial rental project analysis, structuring various financing mechanisms in projects, and implications of HOME requirements for rental project finances. Participants in the course will analyze development budgets and pro-formas. The course will focus on combining HOME with other financing mechanisms such as the Low Income Housing Tax Credit, Section 108, and CDBG for rental housing development. Note: This course has been re-named and was formerly known as Advanced HOME.

Who Should Attend

This is an advanced course that is appropriate for PJ, CHDO, or other HOME-eligible nonprofit staff who have passed the HOME Certified Specialist – Regulations exam or have at least two years of HOME rental housing experience.
